Letting go of blame

Whenever there is a problem, the temptation is to blame someone else or blame ourselves. Over time we get used to assigning blame, and it becomes our mindset. We get used to blaming the same people for the same problems, and blame becomes resentment.

We make ourselves unhappy by projecting our beliefs, our standards and our fantasies onto ourselves, other people and situations.  This is why we chase success and compare ourselves to others, making ourselves miserable in the process.

The dentist’s chair

Most people are afraid of going to the dentist.  For years I have used mindfulness to relax away from the fear. When I was 14, I started two years of orthodontics treatment to straighten my teeth.  This involved hours of adjusting braces, fitting retainers, and filing down teeth to fit.
